Acerca de este juego

In this strategic board game, you will lead a unique, asymmetric hero and their army, trying to be the ultimate victor in a war that unfolds over approximately 120 minutes. Players will choose from various actions, such as building monuments, hunting monsters, ravaging the lands, and gathering armies and artifacts. Gods will grant you blessings that will heavily impact the game and create a unique combo for each player. On top of all that, special runes will play a significant role in leveling up your armies or earning other bonuses that include control of deadly monsters. While the game is a spiritual successor of Lords of Hellas and implements a lot of core gameplay aspects, there will be a lot of new mechanics and twists. Multiple victory conditions will keep players at the edge of their seats until the end of the game, making room for some carefully planned last-minute reversals!

Preparación

MAIN BOARD AREA: 1. Place the Mainboard: use the 3–5 Player side for 3–5 players, the 2/5 Player side for 2 players (add the 2nd board for 5 players). 2. Place the Realm tokens (2-player games use larger/different tokens). Apply any expansion options. 3. Place the Action Wheel in the center, oriented to match the realm directions on the board. 4. Select a Temple card (based on player choice and player count) and place Temple miniatures or standees on the board. 5. Randomly place Rune Forges and their corresponding Runes. In a 2-player game, use 3 different Forges and place only 1 random Rune each. 6. Place God's Statue Bases on their corresponding Attribute Symbol spaces. Place remaining statue parts to the side. Place each God's Card and God's Artifact on 3 visible standees. 7. Take 6 Monster Trays (expansion options apply), with 2 per each Rune type. Randomly select 1 to be on the front line. Place the corresponding Monster miniatures and artifacts. Place the Monster Die. 8. Place 1 Boss Tray (expansion options apply) with the Boss miniature. 9. Shuffle each of the 4 card decks separately: Blessing Cards, Event Cards (remove cards numbered above 16 for 2-player games), Monster Attack Cards, and Combat Cards. Place them in the 4 deck holders below the Card Standees (3 holders for Blessing/Event/Monster Attack; 1 for Combat Cards). 10. Place the remaining Runes in any available recipients/containers. 11. Place the 5 Ragnarök Requisite Cards (use counts marked "2PL" for 2-player games). 12. Boss & Monster Placement: Draw 1 Event Card and place the Boss Mini in the indicated Region, then discard it. Draw Event Cards equal to the number of players; check the Rune on each card and place the corresponding Monster Mini in the indicated Region, starting with the front-line monster. If no monsters remain for that Rune, skip it. Discard all used Event Cards. PLAYER BOARD AREA: 13. Each player takes: a set of 3 Help Cards, 1 Player Board, 6 Army miniatures, 4 Priest miniatures, 1 Drakkar, 20 Control Markers, 3 Attribute Tokens, 2 Oversized Rings, and 1 Hero Ring. Set each Attribute Token to Level 2. 14. Hero Draft: Randomly select the 1st player, then proceed clockwise. Each player draws 2 random Hero Tiles and 2 random Origin Cards (the 1st player also receives the Odinsson/Odinsdottir Card). Each player selects 1 Hero Tile and 1 Origin Card. If the 1st player did not take the 1st Player Card, pass it to the next player. Return unselected tiles and cards. Take the corresponding Hero miniature and draw 1 Combat Card. 15. One player at a time: Place your Drakkar on any Sea zone and place your Hero + 2 Armies (Value 1) in a region adjacent to it. The Hero and Armies must be placed in an unoccupied region. 16. Apply bonuses from your Origin Card, place it on your Player Board, and cover it with your Hero Tile.

Flujo del turno

On each player's turn, they use the Action Wheel to select and perform actions. Actions may include moving Heroes and Armies, recruiting armies, building temples, picking up Runes from Rune Forges, making alliances with Realms, and performing special actions. Heroes move to any adjacent region freely regardless of other units; Armies entering an occupied region trigger combat. Monsters may also move into any region but cannot use Drakkars. Players interact with Realms to form alliances (gaining a Combat Card on first alliance). Controlling regions with Monuments grants God's Artifacts; regions with Settlements allow army recruitment and value upgrades; regions with Temple sites allow temple construction when controlled. The game progresses through Event, Monster Attack, and Blessing card draws. The game ends when Ragnarök conditions are met.

Puntuación y victoria

The winner is the player who has best fulfilled the Ragnarök Requisite conditions when Ragnarök is triggered. Specific scoring values are tracked via the 5 Ragnarök Requisite Cards. Fuentes de puntuación: Controlling regions (area control), Building Temples, Forming Realm Alliances, Acquiring God's Artifacts from Monument regions, Collecting Runes from Rune Forges, Defeating Monsters and the Boss, Fulfilling Ragnarök Requisite Card conditions

Reglas que debes conocer

Las reglas más útiles para jugar bien la primera partida.

Setup

Board side selection depends on player count.

Use the 3–5 Player side of the Mainboard for 3, 4, or 5 players. Use the 2/5 Player side for 2-player games. For 5-player games, add the second board extension.

Setup

2-player games use only 3 different Rune Forges, each with 1 random Rune.

In a 2-player game, randomly place 3 different Rune Forges (rather than the full set) and place only 1 random Rune at each Forge. Standard player-count games use all Rune Forges.

Setup

6 Monster Trays are used (2 per Rune type); 1 is randomly designated as the front-line monster.

Take 6 Monster Trays, with 2 assigned per Rune type. Randomly select 1 Monster Tray to be the front-line monster. Place that monster's miniature and artifact on the board. Place the Monster Die near the monster area.

Setup

Remove Event Cards numbered above 16 in 2-player games.

Before shuffling the Event Card deck in a 2-player game, remove all Event Cards with a number greater than 16. In all other player counts, use the full Event Card deck.

Setup

The Boss is placed in the region indicated by the first drawn Event Card.

During setup, draw 1 Event Card. Place the Boss miniature in the Region indicated on that card, then discard the card. This is done before placing any Monster miniatures.

Setup

Monsters are placed by drawing Event Cards equal to the number of players.

After placing the Boss, draw a number of Event Cards equal to the number of players. For each card, check the Rune indicated and place the corresponding Monster's miniature in the Region shown, starting with the front-line monster. If no monsters remain for the indicated Rune, skip that card and take no action. Discard all used Event Cards after placement.

Setup

In 2-player games, Ragnarök Requisite Cards use the counts marked '2PL'.

Place the 5 Ragnarök Requisite Cards. In a 2-player game, use the counts or thresholds marked with the '2PL' indicator on the cards rather than the standard values.

Setup

Each player receives a full set of components including armies, priests, a drakkar, and attribute tokens set to level 2.

Each player receives: 3 Help Cards, 1 Player Board, 6 Army miniatures, 4 Priest miniatures, 1 Drakkar, 20 Control Markers, 3 Attribute Tokens, 2 Oversized Rings, and 1 Hero Ring. All Attribute Tokens must be placed at Level 2 at the start of the game.

Preguntas frecuentes y casos límite

A Hero moves into a region that contains enemy Armies. Does combat trigger?

No. Heroes may move freely into any adjacent region regardless of the presence of enemy Armies, Monsters, or the Boss. Only Army pieces trigger combat when moving into an occupied region.

Can a Monster use a player's Drakkar to cross a Sea and enter an adjacent region?

No. Monsters can move into any region but are explicitly prohibited from using Drakkars. They cannot traverse Sea zones and are therefore unable to reach regions that are only accessible via sea routes.

Can a player move their Hero or Armies into a Realm zone?

No. Realms do not allow any movement of Heroes, Armies, or Monsters into them. Interaction with Realms is limited to Alliance actions performed from adjacent or qualifying positions.

If I am the first player to form an Alliance with a Realm, what do I get?

You draw 1 Combat Card from the Combat Card deck immediately when you are the first player to make an Alliance with that specific Realm.

Can I build a Temple in a Temple-eligible region I do not control?

No. A player must control a Temple-eligible region before they can build a Temple in it. Control must be established first.

When do I receive a God's Artifact from a Monument region?

You receive the God's Artifact immediately when you gain control of the Monument region. The artifact is taken from the corresponding God's standee at that moment.

During setup, an Event Card indicates a Rune type but there are no more Monsters for that Rune. What happens?

Nothing happens for that card. Skip it and take no action. Continue with the remaining Event Cards as normal. All used Event Cards are discarded after placement is complete.

During initial placement, can I place my Hero and Armies in a region already occupied by another player?

No. The region chosen for initial Hero and Army placement must be completely unoccupied — no other player's Hero or Armies may be present there.

In a 2-player game, which Event Cards are removed from the deck?

All Event Cards with a number greater than 16 are removed from the Event Card deck before shuffling in a 2-player game.

What value are the 2 Armies placed during initial setup?

Both Armies placed adjacent to the starting Drakkar during initial placement are at Value 1. Army values can be increased later by using Settlement regions.
