Over My Dead Buddy

Over My Dead Buddy is a competitive card game set inside an ’80s slasher movie, where every player is trying to survive the night while making sure someone else becomes the killer’s next victim. Each player takes the role of a classic horror archetype and tracks their sanity as the body count rises.

Each scene, players choose an action card from their hand and secretly choose another player as their target using target cards. Once everyone has chosen, the cards are revealed and resolved. Betrayal hurts another player, Hide protects you and can punish an attacker, and Lure can draw someone out even if they tried to hide. Jump Scare cards interrupt the usual flow with sudden twists that can change who is safe and who is exposed.

Players lose sanity when they are attacked, tricked, or caught in the chaos. When a character runs out of sanity, they are eliminated from the movie. The last surviving player wins. The game also includes mode options for a simpler version without character powers and a more advanced version with unique character abilities.
