Acerca de

Silo is a two player game. The 1x6 rectangular grid is initially set up with alternating stacks of 3 red checkers and 3 blue checkers (18 checkers in all). Larger setups can be used. For example, a 1x8 board and stacks of height 4. The two players, Red and Blue, take turns moving substacks of checkers, one substack per turn, starting with Red. [A substack could be a whole stack or just part of one.] Passing is not allowed, but if you don't have an available move, your turn is skipped. Silo uses the pie rule. Blue, on his first turn, has the option of switching colors and becoming Red, claiming the first move as his own, instead of making a move. To win, all of your checkers must be in one contiguous substack, possibly with enemy checkers above and/or below it. MovesMove your highest checker within a stack to your right one square, carrying with it any enemy checkers that may be stacked above it. Place your checker on top of the stack in the destination square, if there is a stack in that square. If there’s no stack in the destination square, just place your checker on the board. NOTE: You sit on the opposite side of the board from your opponent. So your right is the opposite direction from your opponent’s right. The examples are shown from Red’s perspective. Design notesSilo was inspired by the Tower of Hanoi puzzle. I wanted two players taking turns moving a checker of their own color to an adjacent square. Michael Amundsen made a material contribution to Silo.
