Players take on the roles of Avatars, powerful spellcasters vying to defeat their opponent for control of the realm. Avatars reconfigure the battlefield with Sites from their Atlas decks and harness elemental energies to cast Spells from their Spellbook decks. Avatars travel the realm, attacking their rival and directing their summoned Minions, Artifacts, Auras, and Magics to reduce their opponent’s life to zero and deal a death blow to win. They can also win by depleting their opponent’s Atlas and Spellbook. Each player constructs a deck from the pool of 440 cards themed around angels and demons, hallowed and unholy places, eldritch and undead monstrosities—and unleashes them on the twenty-square board where positional advantage is as important as clever cardplay.
