The Dauphin and the Sword is the 13th module in the series Au Fil de l'Epée (By The Edge of the Sword) and First volume of "AFDE - Louis XI ». It covers three battles of Louis XI, when he was still Dauphin of France (heir to the throne) and finally King of France: Dieppe (1443), Saint-Jacques-sur-la-Brise (1444) and Montlhéry (1465), which are, respectively, the 34th, 35th and 36th battles in the series. Note: Montlhéry is a new edition, much expanded, with new map, counters, and scenario specific rules of the battle published in 2007 with Epées et Couronne (DTP). The game includes: - 324 die-cut counters - 2 A2 maps - 1 A4 map - One 16 pages booklet (rules, scenarios and historical notes - One player aid Battles: - The Assault on the Fortress at Dieppe, August 14, 1443 (Louis, Dauphin of France vs. William Peyto, commander of English garrison of Dieppe) - The Battle of Saint-Jacques-sur-la-Brise, August 26, 1444 (Louis, Dauphin of France & Jean de Bueil vs. Hans Matter, Swiss army leader) - The Battle of Montlhéry, July 16, 1465 (Louis XI, King of France vs. Charles The Bold, Duke of Burgundy) The game features one historical scenario and one "what if?" scenario per battle.
