Wordy Birdy is a turn-based card game version of "word find" puzzles. Its deck has 66 letter cards and 3 "Wordy Birdy" wild cards that stand for any letter. Letters have a point value; wild cards have 0 points. One copy of each vowel is a "Double word score" card. Each player is dealt 5 cards, then 40 more cards are dealt into an 8x5 array, face up. Each player in their turn makes a word out of letters in the grid with one card from the hand. The letters in the grid must make a chain of adjacent cards that doesn't overlap itself; the card from the hand can be inserted anywhere in the word, including the first letter. The player keeps those letters and their score, and the dealer fills the holes in the array from the deck, until it is used up. A player may pass if they can see no play. The games ends after each player has made 5 words, or each player passes in turn. The highest total score wins.
