Preparación

1. Shuffle all Whoonu cards and deal an equal hand to each player (except the starting Whoozit). 2. Place the scoring envelope and tokens/chips within reach of all players. 3. Designate the first Whoozit — the player whose turn it is to be guessed. 4. The Whoozit does not hold cards during their turn as the guesser.

Flujo del turno

Each round, one player is the Whoozit (the guesser). All other players secretly choose one or more cards from their hand that they believe the Whoozit will enjoy or love the most, and place them face-down in the center. Once all cards are submitted, the Whoozit reveals all submitted cards and ranks them in order from favorite to least favorite. Players earn points based on how highly their card was ranked by the Whoozit. After scoring, the Whoozit role passes to the next player. This continues until every player has been the Whoozit once.

Puntuación y victoria

After all players have each served as the Whoozit once, every player totals the scoring tokens in their envelope. The player with the highest total wins. Fuentes de puntuación: Points earned each round based on how highly the Whoozit ranked a player's submitted card — higher rank = more points

Reglas que debes conocer

Las reglas más útiles para jugar bien la primera partida.

Setup

Deal cards to all players except the first Whoozit.

At the start of the game, shuffle the Whoonu category cards and deal an equal number to each player who is NOT the Whoozit. The Whoozit does not receive cards at the start of their turn as guesser.

Turn structure

The Whoozit is the active guesser for the round and does not submit cards.

Each round, one player is designated the Whoozit. The Whoozit's job is to rank the cards submitted by the other players in order of personal preference. The Whoozit does NOT hold cards or submit cards during their round as guesser.

Card play

Non-Whoozit players each secretly choose and submit one card from their hand.

All players who are not the Whoozit look at their hand of cards and secretly select one card they believe the Whoozit will like or love the most. Cards are placed face-down in the center of the table simultaneously. No player may show or discuss their chosen card before the Whoozit reveals them.

Turn structure

The Whoozit reveals all submitted cards and ranks them from most to least favorite.

Once all non-Whoozit players have submitted their cards face-down, the Whoozit flips them all over and arranges them in a ranked order from most favorite (#1) to least favorite (last place). The ranking is entirely the Whoozit's personal preference — there are no right or wrong answers.

Scoring

Players score points based on how highly the Whoozit ranked their submitted card.

After the Whoozit ranks all submitted cards, players earn points according to the position of their card in the ranking. Higher-ranked cards (closer to #1/favorite) earn more points. Lower-ranked cards earn fewer points. Points are tracked using the scoring envelope and tokens.

Scoring

Players place earned scoring tokens/chips into their scoring envelope to track points.

Each player accumulates their earned scoring tokens in their personal scoring envelope throughout the game. Tokens are not spent — they are saved and totaled at the end of the game to determine the winner.

Turn structure

After each round, the Whoozit role passes to the next player.

Once scoring for the round is complete, the Whoozit role passes clockwise (or in a predetermined order) to the next player. The new Whoozit returns to holding cards (if applicable) or receives a new hand as needed. Rounds continue until every player has been the Whoozit exactly once.

Turn structure

A full game consists of one round per player, each taking a turn as the Whoozit.

The game proceeds through a series of rounds equal to the number of players. Each player takes exactly one turn as the Whoozit. Once all players have been the Whoozit, the game ends and final scores are tallied.

Informe estratégico

Know Your Whoozit

Since points are awarded based on the Whoozit's personal preferences (preference_based_ranking), the key skill is knowing what each specific player loves. Pay attention to what other players say and how they react throughout the game — this information is invaluable when it's their turn to be the Whoozit.

Card Selection Is Everything

Because you submit only one card per round (card_submission), choosing the single card from your hand that best matches the current Whoozit's known preferences is critical. A mediocre card that you're confident the Whoozit loves beats a 'better' card they might rank low.

Maximize Your Whoozit Round

Since the Whoozit earns no points during their own round (whoozit_no_score), every other round is a scoring opportunity. Consistent mid-to-high rankings across multiple rounds outperform one perfect round and several poor ones.

Think Uniquely, Not Generically

Submit cards that reflect what is distinctive about the current Whoozit's personality rather than generic popular choices. Since all players are competing for the top rank (scoring_rank), a unique card that nails the Whoozit's specific taste is more likely to reach #1 than a safe, broadly appealing choice.

Preguntas frecuentes y casos límite

Can the Whoozit earn points during the round they are guessing?

No. The Whoozit does not submit a card and therefore earns no points during the round they serve as guesser. Only the other players who submit cards are eligible to score.

What happens if the Whoozit cannot decide between two cards and wants to rank them equally?

The rulebook does not explicitly address tied rankings. The Whoozit is expected to rank all cards in a distinct order from most to least favorite. Players should agree before the game on a tiebreaker method (e.g., re-rank, coin flip) if the Whoozit genuinely cannot choose.

What happens if two or more players are tied for the highest score at the end of the game?

The rulebook does not specify a tiebreaker for final scores. Tied players share the victory, or the group may agree on a sudden-death tiebreaker round before the game begins.

Does the Whoozit hold or receive cards during their round as guesser?

No. The Whoozit does not hold or play cards during the round they are guessing. Only the non-Whoozit players hold and submit cards.
