"The game is set in the remote mountains of old Japan. To become the lord of the mountains, a fox and a raccoon dog compete in a contest of shape-shifting. The goal is to control various territories. You win if the territories you control are connected in all four directions (north, south, east, and west) or if the total power value of your controlled territories reaches +8. Conversely, you lose if the total power value reaches -8. Each round, three of the 16 territory cards (arranged in a 4x4 grid) are revealed. Afterward, players take turns revealing 3 cards from their 6-card hands to compete for control of the corresponding territories in each of the three colors." -from the publisher
