逆臣の炎 (Gyakushin no Honoo, "Fire of the Rebel") is the second game from Polygonotes. You play as a servant in the house of a mad king, waiting for a chance to depose him to save the kingdom. The game has three special kinds of cards. There's one each of the Night and the Dawn, which move around the table - the Night is always held by the active player, and the Dawn by the previous player. In the deck there are many "Flames of the Treacherous Retainer" cards, which have different colored backs. A round ends when one player has three Flames and the Night card; you win by having 20 points at the end of a round. Each turn you can play a card or draw a card. Some cards can't be played and just add points (positive or negative) to your hand. Others have all kinds of effects, like making another player put a Flame on the bottom of the deck, reversing turn order, or even flipping the deck upside down. Even the Night and Dawn cards are worth points, so you might want to trick someone else into ending the hand.
