Dossier

Battle of Sekihara (关原之战) is a 2-player card-driven board game focused on area control. Players step into the tense night when Ishida forces invaded the Tokugawa inner domain, with both sides on edge, competing to outmaneuver each other in troop deployment and strategy. With only nine castle cards forming the battlefield, every decision is critical in this compact yet strategic duel. Players secretly draw ambush markers tied to specific castle cards. Each round, players alternate selecting three different actions. Troops are deployed based on ambush strength and action effects. Majority control determines ownership of castle cards. Claimed castles form each player’s territory for the final phase. Players resolve all territory effects and compare total strength. Highest strength wins, with tie-breaker based on lowest base strength card. This game is part of the third edition of the 9 Cards series.
