About
Brilliant Misfits is a push-your-luck game with a instant win twist. You are eccentric inventors joining forces in a series of wildly ambitious startup ventures. Every player has a stake in every venture. Cash out before a venture collapses and you'll walk away with a tidy profit — a wise choice, prudent inventor. But risk it all to change the world, and you might be remembered as the Brilliant Misfit you were born to be! Gameplay Overview Brilliant Misfits is played over multiple rounds. Each round represents a new venture the DELUDED DREAMERS have started together. Market Risk cards will be flipped one at a time to determine the value of the venture. The Market Risk cards stay faceup on the table until all of the players have sold out, or the startup venture has gone bankrupt. Most of the Market Risk cards are black cards. They increase the risk of going bankrupt. Each time a black card is flipped, the value of the startup increases by 1. There are 7 different black cards; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The number represents the how many copies of that card is in the Market Risk deck. The startup venture goes bankrupt if a second black card of the same number is flipped. So the higher the number on a black card, the higher the risk. 15 of the Market Risk cards are red Market Bubble cards. They do not increase the risk of going bankrupt. Each time a red Market Bubble card is flipped, the value of the startup increases by 1 + 1 for every red Market Bubble card that was already faceup on the table. So the first Market Bubble card is worth 1 point, then 2 points, 3 points, 4 points, etc. Players who SELL OUT will draw 1 Business Connections card for each Market Bubble card that is faceup on the table. When a venture goes bankrupt, any player may use a Business Connections card of the correct number to stay in the propped up venture. Everyone who does not use a Connections card gets nothing for that venture and is out until the next venture. The last remaining DELUDED DREAMER in any venture has a choice: Strike it rich as the sole owner - flip 3 cards: get the value of the company plus 5 points if you don't bust. Change the world - flip 6 cards: get an instant win if you don't bust. The first player to get 35 points wins. —description from the publisher
