Dossier

Cards of Honor – Eastern front is a card game for one to two players (best played with 2) that in very simplified way presents battles on the Eastern front between Germans and Soviets during Wold War II. Units in game are presented by cards, and players use them as they clash each-other. Objective of the game is to score more points than your opponent, in two battles (with a possibility of third), by destroying enemy units. Each battle consist of turns in which top card from the Army deck is drawn and pitted against a top card drawn from the enemy's Army deck. Their fight is resolved, and depending on that resolve, the next units in line will fight either with a surviving unit or a new one. Players can always see which units will be next to fight, as Army decks stays face up throughout the duration of the battle. After battle is finished, each player will summarize his score from the destroyed units he collected. Hollow stars are worth half a point, one full star is worth 1 point. Depending on used generals, add a bonus points if you managed to achieve a Tactical, Strategic or a Morale victory, as written on his card. You only check for victory conditions from the card of a general you have used. For a Tactical victory, you need to have more cards with a hollow star than your opponent. If both of you have same amount of those cards, neither achieved a Tactical victory. For a Tactical victory you gain +3 points to your score. For a Strategic victory, you need to have more cards with a star than your opponent. If both of you have same amount of those cards, neither achieved a Strategic victory. For a Strategic victory you gain +4 points to your score. For a Morale victory, you need to have more cards with two stars than your opponent. If both of you have same amount of those cards, neither achieved a Morale victory. For a Morale victory you gain +5 points to your score. Player with most points wins that Battle round. —description from the designer
