About this game

It’s time to cast the next great animated show...again! A top talent agent like you knows that this season’s hottest new stars are just waiting to be discovered. Audition an all-new cast of characters from hopeful Toons! Will your fresh-faced actors earn this year’s Critic’s Choice award? FlipToons: Season 2 is a quick deck-building game for 1-4 players. This stand-alone expansion features an all-new cast of cartoon animals hoping to make it into your production, including new aquatic creatures and sporty stars. Plus the new Return mechanic to spice things up! FlipToons: Season 2 can be played on its own, or combined with the original FlipToons as an expansion to support up to 8 players and add more variety to your games. Begin each game with a deck of hopeful toon actors. Each round, shuffle your entire deck. Flip (reveal) toon cards in order from the top of your deck into your grid to audition together. Each toon card in your 3-by-2 grid has different talent effects, often based on where they landed in your grid. Many will interact with one another and (hopefully) earn Fame for your studio. But they won’t all have that special on-screen chemistry you’re looking for. Some won’t work well together at all! After each Flip, tally up your current grid of toons’ Fame points, then spend them to hire more stars for your cast. Or, spend some of your Fame to dismiss a card, and get that bad actor off the stage. Sorry kid, you just don’t have what it takes to be a star in this show. Reset your Fame back to zero, shuffle, and flip again. If you are the first to generate 30+ Fame in a single flip, you’ll earn the Critic’s Choice award (worth extra Fame points) and trigger the end of the game. After that turn’s market phase, it’s time for the Final Flip. The player who earns the most Fame during the Final Flip is declared the winner. Applause!
