Generalissimo
(2026)
Dossier
Generalissimo is a tactical zero-luck strategy game for two players, played on a square grid. Players command a diverse set of units, including Infantry, Cavalry, Archers, and the powerful Catapult. The core gameplay is built on a "Zero Memorization" system. Unlike traditional abstract games, all movement rules and attack patterns are integrated into the visual design of the pieces, allowing players to focus entirely on strategy. Each unit has distinct tactical roles: the Catapult can strike targets from a distance (up to 6 squares ahead), destroying everything in its impact zone, while the Cavalry provides high-speed maneuvers. How to win: The game is a battle of attrition. There is no king or general to protect. Victory is achieved by eliminating all of the opponent’s pieces. The last player with at least one unit remaining on the board is declared the winner. With no dice, no cards, and no hidden information, every win is a testament to the player's superior tactical positioning and foresight. —description from the designer
