Hill 226
About this game
Hill 226 is a small solitaire wargame set during an episode of the Battle of Kursk, when the Totenkopf Division, part of the II SS Panzer Corps, was tasked with capturing the town of Prokhorovka. To achieve this objective, they first had to secure Hill 226.6. The game is played over 8 turns, representing the 8 hours available to accomplish the mission, on an 8 × 8 hex grid map. The player assumes command of a detachment from the Totenkopf Division, which must face the Soviet 10th Tank Corps. GAME OBJECTIVE As an armored officer in command of a detachment from the Totenkopf Division, your mission is to capture Hill 226.6 in less than 8 hours. To win the game, the player must end Turn 8 with at least one German unit occupying a Hill hex. Each turn represents one hour, reducing the time available to complete the mission. —description from the designer
