About

In Mykerinos, players lead archaeological campaigns and compete to uncover relics from ancient Egypt while gaining the favor of influential patrons. But excavation is only part of the challenge — the final exhibition at the Museum will determine who earns lasting prestige. The game is played over four campaigns. Each campaign introduces a new excavation region composed of scoring areas built from pairs of plot cards. Players manage a limited pool of archaeologists and must decide how to use them: - Start an excavation - Expand an excavation - Appeal to a patron previously gained - Pass and secure turn order advantages Patrons provide unique abilities and open new strategic possibilities for future campaigns. Once all players have passed, each scoring area is resolved through majority. Players, in order, may either claim a plot card — earning prestige and gaining a patron — or send archaeologists to the Museum to strengthen their final exhibition. At the end of the fourth campaign, prestige is awarded for collected plot cards, patron cards scored through Museum influence, and completed sets of all five different patrons. The player with the greatest prestige becomes the most celebrated archaeologist. This Special Edition celebrates the 20th anniversary of Mykerinos with fully renewed components and stunning new artwork by Amelia Sales and Pedro Soto. In addition, Mykerinos – Special Edition includes all extra content in one box: the Nile Expansion, a quick game mode, and a 4-player team mode, offering new ways to explore and experience this modern classic. -description from publisher
