About

For those of you that may not know, the American Quarter Horse is a heavily muscled, compact horse, that can run a short distance over a straightaway faster than any other horse in the world. If you’ve seen thoroughbred racing, the first time you see quarter horses you’ll be surprised. They are fast and the races are quick… and perfect for a horse racing game. A game, or Racing Card, consists of six races, each with six horses. You can play Quarters as a handicapper – picking the horses and placing bets and as a jockey – making decisions during the race to increase your horse’s chances to win. Because the game mechanics move the horses, each race is unique. No two races will ever be the same! Inside you’ll find: A track to run your races over. Horse markers. Horse Stats Cards to build your horse and jockey. 50 pre-generated horses for you to use. Four different distances to race over, each requiring a different strategy. Betting rules including exotic bets like the Daily Double and Exacta. All this and more… Quarters isn’t rules heavy and you’ll be playing in a few minutes. Play three games and you’ll know all the rules. But knowing the rules won’t mean you’ll win all the time as this simple little game has a lot of strategy to it. —description from the designer
