About

Scrumble is a Scrabble-like word game meant for people who don't have the time to sit down and play together. It has a 5.5" square magnetic board, and 95 0.5" square magnetic letter tiles, so it can be played on the side of a refrigerator or filing cabinet. Designed for 2 players, each player can make a turn when they have the time for it, and move the "It's Your Turn" marker to the opponent's side. For the most part it plays like Scrabble: In a player's turn, they use letters from their hand to spell a word on the grid that intersects in a crossword manner with existing words, after which they score their word and fill their hand back to 7 letters from the box of remaining letters. There are spaces that award 2x or 3x the value of a letter or a word. The game ends when players can no longer play additional words, at which point the player with the higher total score wins. Differences from Scrabble include: The grid is 9x9, not 15x15. Players' hands of letters are visible on either side of the board, so they can take each other's holdings into account when they do their turn. All letters are worth 1 point each, so a word's basic score is its length.
