Dossier

SUWS/NSUWS is a simple introductory system which allows to simulate land and naval battles mainly during the pre-gunpowder era. It is easy to understand and play and players must face the same problems of their historic counterparts, finding some battles very hard to win, and to lose, or very slow or fast, finding themselves in the same climax of the leaders which fought hundreds of years ago. The game includes: Two set of rules, basic, for easy introduction, and advanced, for a deeper game. Two scenarios books including naval and land battles ranging from ancient Greek and Roman era to European medieval and to Japan civil war; covering battles never simulated before like Al-Qadisiyyah or Dan-No-Ura. Each battle has its own map (of a standard size) and includes advanced and special rules if needed. More than 1,000 front-back easy-to-understand counters including Leaders, infantry, cavalry, archers, ships and other units with unique symbols based on era and geographic area, European and eastern, of all forces involved. Charts and table. The game is open to suggestions, new ideas and scenarios, and a blank map and blank counter sheet is included to help in development. Actually the game is in Italian tongue only. The game is totally free and all files needed to print & play are included here.
