About

Get those gears TERNing with this deceptively simple game of chain reactions. Larger numbers flip smaller numbers, and flipped tiles can trigger other tiles. Find the longest chain reactions to maximize your score. But, be careful not to let your opponents piggyback. Try to place your tile in a way that cuts off your opponent from setting off the same chain. Don't forget that you can only flip tiles of the opposite color! For advanced players, utilize the special TERN coin to manipulate tiles and optimize your "tern"! On your turn, a player selects 1 tile from their hand to play to the table. Compare the numbers on the sides of your played tile to the numbers on any touching tiles. If the number on the played tile is higher AND the touching tile is the opposite color, then flip the touching tile. Now, if the flipped tile is now touching any other tiles with a lower number and an opposite color, then flip that tile as well. Repeat this process until no tiles can be flipped. The player receives 1 point for each flipped tile on their turn. The game ends when all tiles have been played. For more advanced play, players my use the "Tern coin". At the start of your turn, you may take a special action before playing a tile. Whichever side of the the coin is currently face up determines which of the 2 actions you may take. 1 side allows you to rotate 1 tile 90° and the other side allows you to flip 1 tile. Neither is these actions will affect any other tiles or score points. This simply changes the board state before playing your tile. The coin remains on the same side until someone takes the action, then the coin is flipped. If used properly, this allows for larger scoring turns and cutting off an opponent's chain. —description from the publisher
