Storm over the Yellow Sea is the first installment of The Coming Wave series, enveloping potential conflicts around the area of Yellow Sea, Sea of Japan, Korean Peninsula and Japanese islands. The Coming Wave series are a simulation system that portrays hypothetical conflicts in the near-future. The system focuses on modern and next-generation warfare, where the tempo and lethality of modern warfare are supplemented by a wide array of additional layers: from electronic warfare and cyber warfare, all the way to space warfare. Challenging the players to make decision to utilize all of their assets to the fullest in combined air-land-naval warfare. The game covers multiple potential conflicts: from a naval-air conflict between China and the Korea-US alliance, to an attempt of Japan to reclaim the long-disputed territory from Russia. There are scenarios for one-on-one battles between two belligerent powers, and also full conflict between multi-country alliances. In these scenarios, the game allows players to command the most advanced assets within the region: China’s J-20, U.S.’s F-35, Russia’s Su-57, Japan’s ASM-3 armed F-2, and Korea’s Sejong the Great class to name a few. Challenging the players to conduct combined arms operation with their air, naval, ground elements to the fullest effect and outwit their opponents. The game includes 7 scenarios, with 5 single-map scenarios, 1 double-map scenario and 1 full 3-mapper. Portraying a story arc where a surprise preemptive attack by South Korea sparked the start of a full regional conflict which eventually draws in all major power around.
