Dossier

Die Baumeister von Köln is a board game for two to four players set in medieval Cologne, Germany. The theme is the construction of the city's 12 large Romanesque churches. Players must use their two carts each to bring building stones from the city gates to the construction sites on a historical city map. There they unload their cargo. Whoever has contributed the highest value of building stones to the construction of a building receives points upon its completion. At the beginning of each turn, dice are rolled to determine which building stone will be delivered to which city gate. The players try to block each other's paths in the city with their carts in order to be faster than the others. Encounter cards bring historical figures such as abbots, abbesses, mayors, thieves, etc. into play, allowing interaction with the other players. —description from the publisher
