Players secretly shake a die inside a tin cup and look at the top face, which may indicate they must tell something true, something false, or if they may decide whether their answer will be true or false. Then a card is drawn and the active player answers the question. The other players then bet on whether it was true or false, doubling their bets if they are correct.
