Each 12‑hour turn mirrors the rhythm of an actual patrol, from cautious approaches at periscope depth to desperate evasions in shallow coastal waters. Special missions, minelaying operations, and the grinding attrition of repeated patrols reflect the historical experience of the Royal Navy’s submarine flotillas in the Mediterranean.
