About
Carrot Greens is a distilled deck builder experience. Just like a regular deck builder, a player will have to carefully judge when to switch from improving their deck building abilities (via “Carrots”) to gaining victory points (“Rabbits”) before the game ends. Players start with a small deck of a few carrots and rabbits. Throughout the game, they trade cards into the shop, using carrots, to change their deck. Players must decide between getting cards which provide more carrots, or which provide more rabbits, and must decide which card is traded in to do so. If unable or unwilling to trade a card, the player can manipulate the shop by cycling out a card or two. Then the player shuffles their deck/hand, and draws their hand for their next turn. This game is simple to learn, and teach. Setup is quick. Players only have two types of actions: to trade in a card with the shop, or to cycle a card in the shop (and maybe trade for it). Then they shuffle and draw their next hand. Turns go quickly, and each playthrough of the game lasts only a short time. Games are close, as most players will have between 6 and 10 rabbits at the end. —description from the designer
