Chickadee is a shedding/climbing card game for 2 players where players seek to be the first to shed their hand of cards. Chickadees do not migrate for the winter, but instead store up seeds, insects, and berries in order to make it through the cold season. In this game, players will be collecting cards into their hands in order to help them shed out, becoming the first one ready for winter. In Chickadee, opponents split a standard 52 card deck, each taking two entire suits. Some of these cards are placed into a pyramid structure in front of each player from which they'll be able to draft new cards throughout the game. Chickadee has a simple meld structure, making it an easy entry point for players new to the genre. It's a game of taking advantage of current opportunities, planning for future turns, and identifying and exploiting your opponent's weaknesses. —description from the designer
