Family Football Board Game is a quick play, drive-by-drive American Football game that's so simple to play, grandparents can play with their grandchildren. Included with the game are 20 all time great teams from the past. The ratings, scoring abilities, and defensive strengths are based on actual historical data. Other card sets are available as a separate purchase, including modern and historic season sets, as well as great team compilation sets. Each player rolls dice to determine the outcome of each drive, using the ratings of each offensive unit, compared to the strength of the opposing defensive unit. Kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns are also possible, as are fumbles, interceptions, and safeties. Other rare plays include fumble and interception returns for touchdowns. As a comical option, there is a rule set to include REFBALL! as part of the game. REFBALL! allows you to choose a team that the league and referees "favor," to allow for random, conspiracy driven, fixed outcomes on a drive.
