About

Dicey Chess reimagines classic chess by combining strategic planning with the unpredictability of dice. Players command armies represented by dice, each showing a chess piece. On your turn, you move a die according to the movement rules of the piece it currently displays. After moving, that die is usually rolled, potentially transforming it into a different piece and forcing both players to constantly adapt their plans. While the familiar movement rules of kings, rooks, bishops, knights, and pawns remain intact, the ever-changing nature of the dice creates a dynamic battlefield where strategy, tactics, luck, and opportunity intersect. Players can win by checkmating the opposing king or by moving their own king onto the opponent's starting king space. Designed as a fast and accessible duel, Dicey Chess offers a fresh twist on traditional chess that rewards both tactical thinking and adaptability. —description from the publisher
