About

Ghost Liner is a hidden-role, social deduction card game for 5–9 players set aboard a haunted phantom ship. At the start of the game, players are secretly divided into two opposing factions via identity cards: Humans (Navigators and Passengers) trying to guide the ship safely, and "Caron" (evil spirits and Hades) who have infiltrated the crew to sabotage the voyage. Each round begins with a timed discussion, after which players simultaneously select their destination by secretly playing one of their three Room Cards: the Wheelhouse, the Library, or the Lounge. Once choices are revealed, players resolve actions in their respective locations: - In the Wheelhouse, crucial scoring takes place via hidden card placement: Humans try to submit "O" cards to advance, but if a Caron player sneaks in an "X" card, the sabotage succeeds and points go to the evil spirits. - The Library allows a player to secretly inspect another player's physical identity card. - The Lounge protects players from the Caron faction's nighttime elimination attacks. Eliminated players return to the game as Ghosts. They lose their voting rights but receive special Ghost tokens to force living players into the Lounge, ensuring that everyone stays actively involved in the tabletop strategy until the very end. The Human faction wins if they accumulate the target number of "O" points or successfully exile all Carons through daily majority voting. Conversely, the Caron faction achieves victory by accumulating the target number of "X" points or by reducing the human population until they make up at least half of the surviving players. Ghost Liner masterfully transitions from early psychological bluffing to tight, data-driven logical deduction as the physical history of past room actions builds up.
