Lifeguard is a cooperative game for 2-4 players; these players are a team of lifeguards at a crowded and chaotic outdoor pool, trying to prevent hazards and save any victims before it's too late. The players create the shape and depth of their own pool; each zone in the pool fills and empties throughout the game with different risks, hazards, and victims in the form of facedown cards. The guards work furiously to flip over these cards and then work together to deal with whatever emergencies they uncover. Any waste of time results in more facedown cards in their pool, which means any unseen victims' conditions are growing more and more serious, making them harder to save. In addition to the pool itself, the players can customize the difficulty of the game by adding more hazards or victims into the deck, as well as choose special characters and special abilities for themselves. —description from the designer
