Means of Power: Interregnum
(2026)
About
A powerful king has died without an heir, and four noble pretenders move to fill the void. Means of Power: Interregnum is a medieval strategy card game in which players compete to consolidate control over a fractured kingdom through a mix of military strength, political maneuvering, and covert action. Players build their dominion by acquiring cities — either by claiming them peacefully or by taking them through combat — and must hold a complete set of cities across different tiers of importance to win. Control is never fully secure: a city gained one turn can be contested and lost the next, keeping the balance of power in constant motion throughout the game. Combat between players is resolved through a layered system where the choice of forces, timing, and supporting effects all matter more than raw strength alone. Beyond direct conflict, players can also gather information, disrupt their rivals' plans, or position influential figures who provide ongoing benefits over the course of the game. The game rewards reading your opponents and adapting your strategy turn to turn, rather than committing to a single fixed path to victory. It ends the moment a player completes their full dominion, at the start of their own turn. —description from the publisher
