Octo is a member of the battleship family of paper and pencil games. Each player sets up a board in secret, and then takes turns asking the other player about the board. In Octo, the board is an 8x8 board. Each player divides the board into eight sections of eight contiguous squares. Play then alternates calling off rectangles for which the other player informs the number of each section within that rectangle.
