Tonaludo: Het Notenduel
Dries Gaerdelen , Tristan Piolon (2026)
About
In Tonaludo, players enter a playful musical world where notes, rhythm and quick thinking come together in a set of accessible card games. The game is designed around basic music reading skills, but presents them through familiar card-game mechanisms, making music practice feel like a lively challenge rather than an exercise. The main game, The Note Duel, is a competitive game for two players. Each player builds a row of note cards and plays cards by matching color or symbol. To score points, players must correctly name the notes they play. Action cards add interaction by letting players swap, block or influence each other’s cards, creating a light tactical duel where musical knowledge and clever timing both matter. The box also includes two solo challenges focused on speed and recognition. In these modes, players try to identify notes as quickly and accurately as possible, improving their fluency through repeated short challenges. Together, the different game modes allow players to practise note reading in both competitive and individual ways. In The Note Duel, the game is played over three rounds. Players score points by correctly identifying notes and using their cards effectively. After the third round, the player with the highest total score wins. —description from the publisher
