The remote asteroid field known as Crestfell was discovered to have the richest deposits of Asteryte ore in the sector. The Emperor is opening up mining for this valuable mineral for a short time and has proclaimed the most effective mining faction will get exclusive rights. Through mining and conquest, you are determined to acquire the most Asteryte and become the dominant mining power of the sector. In Crestfell, you'll need to create the best fleet to attack other players' bases while balancing defenses to protect your own. This game was designed to be very interactive and quick to learn with a large amount of dynamic combinations and strategies. Details: If the individual game you will have your fortress which serves as the base for your fleet. You have 3 bases, to which you set the amount of Asteryte being produced for that round. Each player then puts a formation of 3 cards (ships) to defend the base and that can be used to attack other players. Every player has 2 moves each round, to which they can use to increase their fleet (draw cards) or attack other players. Every round is made a little more interesting by events through the asteroid field that players can adjust their strategies to take advantage of. Players then add up the Asteryte they collected for the round both through mining and conquest. At the end of 5 turns the player with the most ore wins the game! The team game mixes this up, where now the Factions have decided because the stakes are so high they are willing to share a victory for the Crestfall asteroid belt. And now the aggression is full on. Players use a combination of transport ships for direct assault and have consolidated their defense and mining to a single base. In the team game you deploy formations for your ally to use and add to their fleet, and victory can only be achieved through teamwork and maximum attrition of your opponents. —description from the designer
