About
Granary is a card bidding/drafting and polyomino placement game for 1-4 players. So just what is a granary? Acorn woodpeckers are amazing birds, they stash acorns in dead trees called "Granaries" by pecking holes in them and then inserting acorns into them. One Granary may have up to 50,000 holes in it. They also live in small cooperative flocks, each having specific duties to the flock. One might gather up the acorns, another might organize and stash the acorns, another might guard the tree from animal acorn thieves. In this game you are an acorn woodpecker, setting up a new Granary that you found, you will be harvesting acorns and stash them in your Granary while also enticing and feeding bird friends, thereby convincing them to join your flock. You are competing with other players to be the best fed with the best flock by the start of winter (the end of the game). There are four phases to the game: Bid Phase: Players will play one card face up from their hands in turn order attempting to get the Harvest card they want based on bid value of the card they played. (Highest gets highest, 2nd highest gets the 2nd highest, 3rd highest, the 3rd highest, Lowest gets lowest) Harvest Phase: Each player gets a card from the Harvest board based on their bid number. Feed & Stash: Players apply the polyomino and collect loose acorns from the harvest, and put them on Bird Friends and/or on their Granary. Get a new bird friend immediately from your personal discard pile if the one you have is completed. Reset phase: Bid cards now become Harvest cards for the next round. —description from the publisher
