ENJOY THE SIMPLE PLEASURE OF SHARING GOOD TASTE Select from ten different tasters, each with their own unique preferences. Choose your wines and create the most delicious pairings with the foods on the table. Featuring the wineries on Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Sip and Savor: Game Rules I. Setup 1. End Game card: Find and set aside the Closed/End Game Card from the Dish deck. 2. Shuffle: Create three separate decks: Dish Cards, Wine Cards, and Sommelier Cards.
Shuffle the decks and set the Wine and Sommelier decks aside. 3. Prepare the Dish Deck: Randomly remove 4 Dish Cards from the Dish deck. Shuffle the Closed/End Game Card into the removed 4 cards. Place this small stack of 5 cards (4 Dish, 1 End Game) on the bottom of the main shuffled Dish deck. 4. Sommelier Cards: Deal 2 Sommelier Cards to each player. Each player chooses 1 to keep face-up in front of them and discards the other. 5. Market Setup: Lay out 8 Dish Cards face-up next to the Dish deck. Lay out 4 Wine Cards face-up above the Wine deck. 6. Initial Wine Deal: Determine the first player (the last person to have a sip of wine). Deal Wine Cards to each player, starting with the first player: 1st Player: 1 Wine Card, 2nd Player: 2 Wine Cards, 3rd Player: 3 Wine Cards,
4th Player: 4 Wine Cards II. Turn Order On your turn, you may take one of the following two actions: 1. Pairing: Play 1 Wine Card from your hand onto a face-up Dish Card. Collect both the paired Wine Card and the Dish Place both cards face-down under your Sommelier Card to indicate they are to be scored at the end of the game. 2. Draw Wine: Select 2 Wine Cards from the 4 face-up Wine Cards and add them to your hand End of Turn: After a player takes their action, refill any missing face-up Dish and Wine cards from their respective decks. Play then passes to the player on the left. Example: Player 1 selects the Riesling and Cabernet Franc cards from the top row to add to her hand. Two more Wine cards from the deck replace the two cards taken. Player 2 Takes a Pinot Noir from their hand and pairs it with the "Duck Breast with Berry Sauce" Dish card. Both cards are placed under his Sommelier Card. Another Dish card is taken from the deck to replace the dish card taken. III. Game End and Scoring Game End: The game ends immediately when the Closed Game Card is drawn from the Dish deck. The player with the most Total Points wins. Total Points are calculated by adding the points from collected Dish Cards and the bonus points from the Sommelier Card. 1. Dish Card Points: Total the points listed on all collected Dish Cards. 2. Sommelier Card Bonus: Apply the bonus rules listed on your face-up
Sommelier Card to the cards you have collected.
Example: If your Sommelier Card gives "3 points for each wine with a Herbal note" and "2 points for each food that is Spicy," you calculate those bonuses and add them to your total.
Example (Specific Dish Bonus): If your Sommelier Card offers an “additional 3 points for collecting the Jerk Chicken dish," you add that bonus if you have that Dish Card. Tiebreaker: If two or more players have the same Total Points, the player with the most collected Dish Cards (the total number of Dish Cards placed under their Sommelier Card) wins.
