Preparación

1. Set up all units according to their printed set-up codes and the rules text, with the following errata corrections: - The South Korean CAP and 20th Mechanized divisions (set-up code 'D') must be placed in or within 2 hexes of Seoul. - The US 1/2 Mechanized Brigade must be placed at Hex 5217 (ignore the '5712' printed on the counter, which is incorrect and places the unit in North Korea). 2. Apply the self-adhesive sticker (included in the game box) over the Unit Type Modifier Chart on the map, as the printed chart is incorrect. Alternatively, use the Unit Type Modifier Chart found in the rules text.

Reglas que debes conocer

Las reglas más útiles para jugar bien la primera partida.

Setup

South Korean CAP and 20th Mechanized divisions (set-up code 'D') must set up in or within 2 hexes of Seoul.

The South Korean CAP division and the South Korean 20th Mechanized division, both marked with the set-up code 'D', must be placed during setup in a hex that is either the Seoul hex itself or within 2 hexes of Seoul. This is an errata correction — any conflicting placement guidance printed elsewhere should be disregarded in favour of this rule.

Setup

The US 1/2 Mechanized Brigade starts at Hex 5217, not Hex 5712 as printed on the counter.

The counter for the US 1/2 Mechanized Brigade incorrectly lists its starting location as Hex 5712, which is located in North Korea. This is a misprint. The correct starting hex for the US 1/2 Mechanized Brigade is Hex 5217, as stated in the rules text. Players must ignore the location printed on the counter and instead place this unit at Hex 5217 during setup.

General

The Unit Type Modifier Chart printed on the map is incorrect; use the chart from the rulebook or the self-adhesive sticker.

The Unit Type Modifier Chart as printed on the game map contains errors and must not be used. The correct Unit Type Modifier Chart is provided in two places: (1) in the rules text, and (2) on the self-adhesive sticker included with each copy of the game. Players should apply the sticker over the incorrect chart on the map, or refer exclusively to the rules text version during play.

Informe estratégico

US Force Deployment

The US 1/2 Mechanized Brigade starts at Hex 5217 (not 5712 as misprinted on the counter). Confirm this position before planning any US defensive line, as placing it in North Korea (5712) would be illegal and dramatically misrepresent the defensive situation on the peninsula.

ROK Capital Defense

The South Korean CAP and 20th Mechanized divisions are constrained to set up within 2 hexes of Seoul. This restriction concentrates two significant ROK units near the capital, making Seoul a natural anchor for the initial defensive line. The North Korean player should plan their axis of advance accordingly.

Combat Resolution Accuracy

Always use the Unit Type Modifier Chart from the rulebook or the corrective sticker — never the chart printed on the map. Using the incorrect map chart could systematically skew combat results in favour of one side throughout the entire game.

Preguntas frecuentes y casos límite

The hex number on the US 1/2 Mechanized Brigade counter disagrees with the rules text. Which takes precedence for starting location?

The rules text takes precedence. The counter is misprinted. Place the US 1/2 Mechanized Brigade at Hex 5217, not Hex 5712. Hex 5712 is in North Korea and is an invalid starting position for a US unit.

The Unit Type Modifier Chart on the map shows different values than the chart in the rulebook. Which is correct?

The chart in the rulebook (and on the self-adhesive sticker supplied with the game) is correct. The chart printed on the map contains errors and must be ignored or covered with the provided sticker.

Set-up code 'D' units have placement rules, but the ROK CAP and 20th Mechanized divisions are coded 'D'. Where exactly can they be placed?

Despite any general rules for set-up code 'D', the South Korean CAP and 20th Mechanized divisions specifically must be placed in the Seoul hex or in any hex within 2 hexes of Seoul. This specific errata overrides any conflicting general placement rule for code 'D'.
