About

Perennial is a gorgeous new puzzly tile-laying game about planting a lush, diverse, and beautiful prairie garden! The game is played over four rounds, with two phases per round. Each round players will have two turns to gather tools, plants, and animals for their gardens by selecting a Tool Card and combination of Plant and/or Animal Tokens. After all players have collected tools, plants, and animals, they simultaneously plant their gardens. The tricky part of the game is that you can only gather and plant based on the shape and form of the tools you collect. Earn points by creating regions of the same type/color of plant, by matching animals to their favorite plants, and by adding idyllic ponds and features to your garden. Players must be clever in both drafting and placement to balance all of their objectives in making the most harmonious garden. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins! Perennial uses polyominos in a new way! On a turn, players draft tiles from the board in one shape (based on the polyomino shape depicted on the card they select for their supply). These square tiles are then disaggregated when placed in the play area. In the placement phase, any of the player’s collected tiles may be reassembled and placed in their garden by using a card in their collection. Assemble your own polyominos into the right configurations to place your wildflowers, wildlife, and garden features to score the most points! —description from the publisher
