A game of boxing for two boxers aged 8 and up, lasting 15 to 30 minutes. Introduction Welcome to the world of Boxing. You and your adversary are about to fight it out in the ring. Each match consists of 3 rounds and whoever is still standing or has the most stamina at the end is the winner. Will you land your carefully planned punches on target? Will you be able to block your opponent’s punches? Will you be able to out bluff your rival? Can you knock him or her out before the end of the match? You will soon find out in this fast and fun game of boxing. Description and Aim of the Game Each match consists of three rounds. In each round ten cards are played. In between rounds there are breaks that allow the boxers to rest and regain some stamina. After the three rounds have completed the boxer with the most stamina left wins the match. Preparación

1. Each player chooses a color: red or blue. 2. Each player takes the stamina card of their color and places it face up in front of them. 3. Each player places the blank boxer card on top of the stamina card, positioned to reveal a stamina of 10. 4. Each player takes their corresponding 32-card deck and shuffles it thoroughly. 5. (Standard Rules) Each player deals themselves 10 cards face down for the 1st round, then picks them up. If a player has 4 or 5 cards of the same value in their hand, they may show their opponent and reshuffle/re-deal a fresh hand (also applies in round 2). 5. (Advanced Rules) Instead of random dealing, players draft their first 10 cards freely from their full deck. After round 1 they draft their next 10, and the final 10 are played in round 3.

Flujo del turno

Each round consists of 10 card exchanges. On each exchange: 1. Both players simultaneously choose one card from their hand and place it face down in the center of the table. 2. Both cards are revealed at the same time. 3. The effects of both cards are resolved together according to the card interaction rules. 4. Players adjust their stamina cards to reflect any hits gained or lost. 5. Play continues until all 10 cards have been played, concluding the round. After Round 1 (if no knockout): Break — both players regain 3 stamina points (max 10). After Round 2 (if no knockout): Break — both players regain 2 stamina points (max 10). After Round 3: The player with the most stamina wins the match. Ties result in a rematch. A match ends immediately if any player's stamina reaches zero (Knock Out). The first player to win 3 matches wins the game.

Reglas que debes conocer

Las reglas más útiles para jugar bien la primera partida.

Setup

Each player has an identical 32-card deck in their color.

Each player uses a 32-card deck in their chosen color (red or blue). The deck contains: 5 Punch cards valued 1, 5 Punch cards valued 2, 5 Punch cards valued 3, 5 Do Nothing cards (0), 5 Block cards (X), 5 Dodge and Punch Back cards (-/*), 1 Stamina card, and 1 Blank Boxer card. Both decks are identical in composition; only color differs.

Setup

Each player starts each match with 10 stamina, tracked by overlapping two cards.

Each player uses a Stamina card and a Blank Boxer card. At the start of every match, the Blank Boxer card is positioned on top of the Stamina card to show a stamina value of 10. When stamina is lost, the Blank Boxer card is slid downward to cover higher numbers and reveal the lower current value. When stamina is gained, the Blank Boxer card is slid upward to reveal the higher value. The maximum stamina at any time is 10.

Restriction

A player's stamina cannot exceed 10.

Stamina is capped at 10 at all times. This applies during breaks and whenever a Do Nothing card grants a stamina point. If a stamina gain would push a player above 10, it is capped at 10.

Turn structure

Each match has 3 rounds of 10 card exchanges; breaks follow rounds 1 and 2.

A match consists of exactly 3 rounds. In each round, both players play exactly 10 cards, one at a time, simultaneously revealed. After round 1 (if no knockout), there is a break where both players regain 3 stamina. After round 2 (if no knockout), there is a break where both players regain 2 stamina. The maximum stamina after any break is 10. There is no break after round 3; instead, the match ends.

Setup

In standard rules, players randomly deal themselves 10 cards per round.

Under standard rules, at the start of round 1, each player deals themselves 10 cards face down from their shuffled deck, then picks them up. At the start of round 2, each player deals themselves another 10 cards. The remaining 10 cards are used in round 3 without additional dealing. If a player has 4 or 5 cards of the same value in their round 1 or round 2 hand, they may reveal this to their opponent and reshuffle and re-deal a fresh hand of 10.

Setup

In advanced rules, players freely draft their 10 cards before each round.

Under advanced rules, players do not deal randomly. Instead, before round 1 each player freely selects any 10 cards from their entire 32-card deck to form their hand. After round 1, they freely select their next 10 cards from the remaining 22 cards. In round 3 they play with the last 10 remaining cards. All other rules remain the same.

Turn structure

Both players choose and reveal one card simultaneously each exchange.

On each exchange within a round, both players secretly choose one card from their hand and place it face down in the center of the table. Both cards are then revealed at the same time. Effects are then calculated and resolved together.

Card play

A Punch card hits an opponent who plays a non-Punch card (except Block) for its full value.

A Punch card (value 1, 2, or 3) deals damage equal to its value to the opponent if the opponent plays a Do Nothing card (0) or a Dodge and Punch Back card against a non-punch (i.e., opponent plays Dodge but no punch was thrown — see dodge interaction). When an opponent plays a Do Nothing card and you play any Punch card, the Do Nothing player is hit by the full punch value.

Informe estratégico

Bluffing with Do Nothing

Do Nothing (0) is a high-risk, high-reward bluff. It gains you 1 stamina if the opponent plays anything other than a Punch. Bait your opponent into playing a Block or Dodge by making them expect a Punch — then rest and recover stamina instead.

Dodge and Punch Back timing

Dodge and Punch Back is most valuable when you suspect an opponent will play a high-value Punch (2 or 3). It converts their offensive play into damage against themselves. However, it is completely wasted against Block, Do Nothing, or another Dodge — so use it when you are confident a Punch is coming.

Punch card conservation

When both players throw a Punch, only the player with the lower-value Punch takes damage (the difference). Playing mid-value Punches (2) minimizes the risk of being out-punched while still threatening damage. Save your 3-Punch cards for moments when you are confident the opponent is not punching back.

Stamina management across rounds

Break stamina recovery is asymmetric: 3 points after round 1, 2 after round 2. This means deliberately taking hits early in round 1 carries a smaller long-term cost if you can recover during the first break. However, entering round 2 or 3 with low stamina is dangerous since the second break only gives 2 points.

Advanced drafting strategy

In advanced rules, you choose all 10 of your round 1 cards freely. A balanced hand (mix of Punches, Blocks, and Dodges) is harder to read than a hand heavy in one card type. However, clustering high Punches in round 1 may be effective if you can catch the opponent off guard before they learn your patterns.

No Mercy variant — timing punches against weakened opponents

Under the No Mercy variant, a weakened opponent (stamina 1 or 2) can never deal more than 1–2 damage regardless of which Punch they play. This makes it safer to play a Do Nothing card for stamina recovery against them, since even if they punch you, the damage is capped at their stamina level.

Block efficiency

Block is most efficient when used to neutralize a large Punch (3). Against a 3 Punch, a Block saves 3 stamina at the cost of one card. However, if the opponent plays Do Nothing, your Block is wasted and you gain nothing. Save Blocks for when you strongly suspect a high Punch is coming.

Knockout awareness

If your opponent is at low stamina, avoid playing Do Nothing cards — a single Punch from the opponent could knock you out if you're also low. Conversely, if your opponent is near zero stamina, prioritize playing Punch cards to secure the knockout and end the match early rather than relying on a stamina lead at the end of round 3.

Preguntas frecuentes y casos límite

Player A plays Do Nothing (0), Player B plays Block (X). What happens?

Player A gains 1 stamina point. The Block card has no Punch to block, so it has no effect. Non-Punch cards have no effect against a Block player, but the Do Nothing player still gains their stamina point because the opponent did not play a Punch card.

Player A plays Do Nothing (0), Player B plays Dodge and Punch Back (-/*). What happens?

Player A gains 1 stamina point. The Dodge and Punch Back has no effect because Player A did not play a Punch card. Non-Punch cards have no effect against a Block player, and Do Nothing still grants stamina since no Punch was thrown.

Blue plays a 3 Punch, Red plays Dodge and Punch Back. Who gets hurt and by how much?

Blue suffers 3 stamina loss. Red suffers none. The Dodge avoids the incoming 3 Punch entirely, and the Punch Back reflects 3 damage back onto Blue — equal to Blue's own Punch value.

Both players play a Punch card of the same value. What happens?

Nothing happens. Equal-value Punches cancel each other out. No damage is dealt to either player.

Blue plays a 3 Punch, Red plays a 1 Punch. Who is hit and for how much?

Red is hit for 2 (the difference: 3 minus 1). Blue takes no damage.

Using the No Mercy variant, Blue has 2 stamina and plays a 3 Punch. Red plays a 1 Punch. Who is hit and for how much?

Blue's 3 Punch is capped at 2 (their current stamina). Red played a 1 Punch, so Red is hit by the difference (2 minus 1 = 1). Red loses 1 stamina.

A player is at 1 stamina and plays Do Nothing. The opponent plays a 1 Punch. What happens?

The Do Nothing player is hit for 1 damage. Their stamina drops to 0, resulting in a Knockout. The match ends immediately and the opponent wins.

A player has 9 stamina at the end of round 1. They gain 3 stamina during the break. What is their new stamina?

Their stamina is capped at 10. They only gain 1 stamina point (from 9 to 10), not 3.

Both players play Block cards. What happens?

Nothing happens. Block cards only interact with Punch cards. Since neither player played a Punch, there is nothing to block and no effect occurs.

Both players play Dodge and Punch Back cards. What happens?

Nothing happens. Dodge and Punch Back is only effective against Punch cards. Since neither player played a Punch, neither Dodge has anything to reflect.

A player deals their round 1 hand and gets five 3-Punch cards. Can they re-deal?

Yes. If a player has 4 or 5 cards of the same value in their hand (in round 1 or round 2 under standard rules), they may show this to their opponent and reshuffle and re-deal a fresh hand of 10 cards.
