About

"It's Just Like Golf...Without the Walking" The double-sided board is an overhead view of all 18 holes of the "Green Valley Country Club" (6760 yards, par 71), with greens, traps, rough, woods, and hazards. The board is also ruled off in squares, with each square 20 yards per side on the scale of the holes. There are 14 dice representing four woods, eight irons, a wedge and a putter. These have various ranges (in yards)appropriate for the club printed on the faces. Another die called the "directional die" has either "hook" or "slice" and a yardage on each side. Players hit their ball (represented by a colored tee) by announcing the direction they're hitting - one of the eight cardinal points - and rolling the directional die and the die for the club they're using. The new ball positioned using the die values and the grid. There are various rules restricting club use depending on the type of landscape you're hiting from. Once you're on the green there's no direction to worry about, just range and the odds on putter die. The manufacturing quality of the game is very good, almost extravagant. The box is hefty, there's a nice cork-lined plastic holder for the dice, a pad of score cards, and large cards printed with golf terms, club ranges, and even golf etiquette ("Replace divots.").
